Trainer Thief Stabs Teen to Death in Tottenham Shocker
A heartless thug who nicked a schoolboy’s trainers and then stabbed a 15-year-old to death when he tried to get them back has been locked up for life. Romario Lindo, 21, homeless and dangerous, was found guilty of murdering Perry Jordan-Brammer at Woolwich Crown Court on 10 March.
Shocking Attack on Broadwater Farm Estate
The murder unfolded on 30 August 2019 at Bruce Grove station, Tottenham. Lindo spotted a 14-year-old carrying fresh Nike trainers and threatened him with an imaginary knife before snatching the shoes. When the boy fought back, Lindo punched him, snapping the bag’s straps and making off with the trainers.
The victim called his friend, who was with Perry. They chased Lindo into Broadwater Farm. Perry, 15, confronted Lindo but was savagely stabbed 10 times in a brutal neck attack, despite witnesses screaming for him to stop. Perry collapsed as Lindo stole the bike he’d used and fled, ditching blood-stained clothes.
Desperate Race to Save Perry Ends in Tragedy
Emergency services rushed Perry to hospital, but he died five days later from his wounds. Police swiftly launched an investigation, sharing CCTV images of Lindo. Officers recognised him and raided a Broadwater Farm flat at dawn on 6 September, arresting the cold-blooded killer.
Lindo was found guilty of murder but cleared of possession of an offensive weapon. Judge Heathcote Williams praised the police for their thorough investigation.
Family and Police Speak Out
“Perry will always be the light of our lives,” said Perry’s family. “He was sincere, loyal, loving and had a smile that lit up a room. Perry was a hero—standing up for a stranger who’d been robbed. He didn’t deserve this.”
Detective Chief Inspector Neil John added: “This was a vicious attack on a young man who lost his life trying to help another teenager. Romario Lindo is dangerous. We’ll keep working to protect our communities and ask anyone with information to come forward.”
