PC Hourigan faced Kingston Crown Court on April 26 and is set to be sentenced on July 7.
Met Police Crack Down on Own Officer
Chief Superintendent Andy Brittain stressed the significance of the arrest, saying it “shows the Met’s firm commitment to upholding the law within its own ranks.”
Investigation Led to Arrest and Charges
The Met’s Online Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse team launched a probe that resulted in Hourigan’s arrest in March 2020. He was subsequently charged in September 2022.
Suspension and Misconduct Proceedings Underway
Hourigan was suspended before charges were brought, and misconduct proceedings are now set to begin.
