Ex-Met Cop Paul Storey Found Guilty of Shocking Sexual Assaults
Former Sergeant Paul Storey has been found guilty of gross misconduct after an 11-day hearing exposed his vile abuse of two women. Despite resigning from the East Area Command Unit, Storey faced full misconduct proceedings.
Local Chief Condemns ‘Abhorrent’ Behaviour
Chief Superintendent Stuart Bell slammed Storey’s actions. “His behaviour is abhorrent. He subjected two women he knew to multiple sexual and physical assaults, plus coercive and controlling behaviour,” Bell said.
“It is hardly necessary to say his behaviour has fallen far below what we expect from police officers. This abuse has lasting, devastating effects. We take these allegations very seriously.”
Bell added that a new specialist team has been set up to tackle sexual misconduct and domestic abuse by officers — aiming to rebuild trust with Londoners. “But that’s little comfort to the victims,” he said.
Disturbing Details of Abuse Unveiled
- Between 2012-2014, Storey locked one victim out of a house on a hot day when she was ill, refused her water, isolated her from friends and family, and monitored her social media.
- In October 2013, he grabbed her by the throat, dragged her down stairs, and threw her onto a table.
- In January/February 2014, he raped her.
- The second victim was attacked multiple times, starting New Year’s Eve 2014 when he smashed a whisky bottle over her head.
- He also throttled her, threw her against door frames and furniture, and raped her around late 2015 or early 2016.
- In June 2017, after an argument, he smashed her framed family photos.
- He also controlled her social life and social media accounts.
Ex-Cop Now Barred from Policing
During the hearing, Storey was initially granted anonymity but was named after the allegations were proven. He resigned from the Met in September 2021.
Storey will now be placed on the College of Policing’s Barred List, banning him from working in any police, local policing, fire, or related services.
