Tragedy struck on Sunday night as a man died at the scene on New South Bridge Road, Northampton, despite paramedics’ desperate attempts to save him.

Man Dies in Suspected Targeted Attack Near University Campus

Police and emergency services rushed to the scene at 8.40pm near the University of Northampton’s Waterside campus. A blue tent was set up as officers launched a major investigation, Detective Inspector Simon Barnes confirmed.

“During this terrible moment, specially trained officers are supporting the victim’s family. We are committed to bringing those guilty to justice,” said Barnes.

Four Arrests Made Overnight

Authorities moved swiftly, making four arrests overnight. Detectives are now questioning the suspects as part of their ongoing inquiries.

“A lot of work has gone into these arrests,” Barnes added. “We urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to come forward, no matter how small it seems.”
