Teen Shot Dead in Early-Morning Horror on Norman Road
Police were scrambled at 4.20am on Thursday, April 13 after reports of a male injured on Norman Road, N15.
Officers and paramedics found 17-year-old Tyler McDermott with a gunshot wound. He was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries but tragically died the next afternoon, Friday, April 14.
Family Devastated as Police Hunt Killer
Tyler’s family are being supported by specialist officers as detectives from the Specialist Crime Command launch a murder probe.
Detective Chief Inspector Neil John said: “It is vital that we hear from anyone who was in the area and saw or heard anything suspicious. We know a large group was there at the time. Please do the right thing and come forward. We are waiting to speak with you.”
Crime Scene Active, No Arrests Yet
The Norman Road crime scene remains sealed as enquiries continue. No arrests have been made so far.
Detective Chief Superintendent Caroline Haines, head of policing in Haringey, said: “My thoughts are with Tyler’s family following the tragic loss of another young life. You’ll see an increased police presence in the area. I encourage local residents to speak to officers if they have any concerns.
“We’ll do everything possible to find those responsible. Ending violence needs community support — together, we can tackle this head-on.”
