Wild Police Chase Ends in Arrests After Northfleet Vehicle Pursuit
In the early hours of Tuesday, 7 December 2021, around 3.20am, chaos erupted in Northfleet as a driver refused to stop for police. The dramatic high-speed chase ended at Ebbsfleet Walk when the vehicle finally came to a halt.
Two Flee Patrols But Cops Nab Both
When the car stopped, two men tried to dash from officers. One, a 37-year-old Londoner, was quickly caught. He faces multiple charges including failing to stop, vehicle theft, and dangerous driving.
“During the arrest, a police officer was assaulted,” confirmed police. The man was also charged with assaulting an officer and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs after officers found over £1,000 in cash inside the car.
Second Suspect Captured After Helicopter Hunt
The other suspect, a 28-year-old with no fixed address, made a desperate foot escape. He was chased by officers, supported by police dog Chewy and the police helicopter. The man was spotted vaulting a tall fence into dense shrubland. Eventually, cops found him hiding under a tree.
He was found carrying cocaine, over £200 in cash, and multiple mobile phones. All were seized. He now faces charges of motor vehicle theft and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
Both Men Still in Custody as Investigation Rolls On
The pair remain in police custody as enquiries continue. Officers urge anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
