High-Speed Chase Ends in Crash as Rider Flees Police in Rochester
Police Pursuit Through Dock Road
Just before 11pm on Saturday, December 3, officers spotted a bike speeding along Dock Road. When told to stop, the rider ignored police and took off with blue lights flashing behind him.
Dangerous Driving and Wrong-Way Escape
The suspect allegedly rode on the wrong side of the road, smashing speed limits to avoid capture. The chase ended in The Brook when the bike smashed into a car. The rider tried to run but was caught on foot.
Multiple Arrests and Drugs Found
- The 45-year-old man from Rochester was arrested for:
- Dangerous driving
- Failing to stop for police
- Theft of a motor vehicle
- Driving without a licence or insurance
- Drug offences
Police found two wraps of suspected heroin during a search. He also failed a roadside drug test showing illegal levels of cocaine and cannabis.
Investigation Ongoing
The man has been released while police continue their inquiries into the high-speed drama.
