Peterborough Drug Dealer Caught with £10k Cash and Luxury Goods

Bruno Te, 29, was busted in Peterborough on 9 June 2019 during a routine patrol by the Neighbourhood Support Team. Armed with a tip-off about a suspected drug deal, officers arrested Te, uncovering a stash of drugs and a money trail that didn’t add up.

Drugs, Cash, and Designer Bling Found on Arrest

  • Police found nine wraps of cocaine and six wraps of heroin on Te.
  • He was carrying £911.87 in cash and three mobile phones.
  • A search of his girlfriend’s home revealed designer clothes, shoes, and jewellery far beyond his declared part-time jobs as a door supervisor and barber.
  • Receipts showed £10,000 spent in cash over just two months.

Money Laundering and Hidden Wealth Exposed

Despite no declared income since 2017 (and under £9,000 the previous year), Te’s bank accounts told a different story:

  • Over £43,000 paid into one account over 14 months.
  • More than £5,000 into another account in just three months.
  • A third account saw £13,000 in deposits over a year.
  • Over £24,000 went into a Portuguese bank account – his native country – believed to be drug money.

Police also linked Te to a Porsche Panamera, registered to his brother’s girlfriend, but suspected to be his ride. In January 2020, he was caught driving it, leading to a car seizure, a year-long driving ban, and a suspended sentence for false identity documents and no insurance.

County Line Kingpin Finally Busted

On 23 October, Te was arrested at Stanstead Airport trying to flee to Portugal. Charged with supply of cocaine and heroin plus money laundering, he admitted guilt in court.

Last Friday (8 January), Te of Hinchcliffe, Orton Goldhay, was slammed with a 54-month prison sentence at Peterborough Crown Court.

DC James Campbell said: “With the evidence stacked up against him, Te had no choice but to admit he played a significant role in the ‘Blacks’ county line, distributing heroin and cocaine throughout Peterborough.

“County lines involves organised crime gangs expanding drug networks into new areas, often exploiting vulnerable youths with violence. Taking down a key player like Te will disrupt the Peterborough drug market and hopefully keep young people away from crime.”
