Serial Shoplifter Busted at Co-op for Stealing Booze and Meat
Dougie Frankham’s Crime Spree
Between Friday 14 and Monday 17 October 2022, Dougie Frankham struck repeatedly at a Co-op on Northumberland Road. He stole alcohol, meat, and other goods during his spree.
Quick Arrest and Court Appearance
On Wednesday 19 October at 8.10am, police from the Maidstone Victim Based Crime Team arrested Frankham at his home in Cambridge Crescent. He stayed silent during questioning but by 12.22pm was charged with four counts of theft and four breaches of a criminal behaviour order. The 35-year-old was jailed for eight months after pleading guilty at Medway Magistrates’ Court later that afternoon.
Police Crack Down on Repeat Offenders
“Frankham ignored a criminal behaviour order banning him from shops he’d targeted before,” said Maidstone District Commander Chief Inspector Mark McLellan. “He stole high-value items to consume or sell. Shoplifting is never a victimless crime. We’re committed to protecting local businesses and making sure criminals like Frankham face justice.”
