Late on Thursday night, the officer alerted the British Transport Police (BTP) Kent after spotting troubling signs. Officers rushed to the scene, detaining the man amid concerns over the treatment of a woman at the address.

BTP Kent confirmed the arrest on Twitter, saying: “We have attended an address in the #Dover area to arrest a male on suspicion of controlling & coercive behaviour and common assault domestic related.
