Hammersmith Sexual Assault: Police Hunt Man Caught on CCTV
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police are urgently appealing for help to identify a man linked to a sexual assault near Hammersmith Underground Station earlier this year.
Woman Followed and Attacked at Dawn
Just before 4am on Sunday, 18 May, a woman in her 30s was walking along Hammersmith Grove when a man followed and sexually assaulted her. After the attack, he fled on foot towards Hammersmith Broadway.
Specially trained officers are supporting the victim as the investigation ramps up.
Police Trace Suspect on CCTV
Using CCTV footage, officers tracked the suspect’s movements before and after the assault. He was last seen heading north on Park Road, then slipping into a residential area near Browning Avenue.
Suspect Description
- White male, 20s
- Height between 5ft 8in and 6ft
- Dark hair
- Wearing a black North Face jacket, black trousers, and white trainers
Police Launch Public Appeal
“Women and girls should be safe to walk the streets without fear,” said Detective Superintendent Lucy O’Connor. “We need the public’s help to identify this man. If you were near Hammersmith Grove on the morning of 18 May, or recognise him from the footage, please get in touch immediately.”
