Sussex Police’s Serious Organised Crime Unit (SOCU) smashed a major cocaine trafficking gang operating between London and the Sussex coast. The crackdown ended with six men convicted for distributing drugs worth up to £392,000 on the streets.
Cocaine Worth Hundreds of Thousands Seized
After months of surveillance, officers seized roughly 850 grams of cocaine and £32,000 in cash. The gang was moving drugs from London to Worthing, with evidence they were peddling as much as four kilos at a time – street value between £313,600 and £392,000.
The Gang Unmasked: Roles Revealed
- Naim Shala, 45, from Newport, was the courier shuttling drugs from Wembley to Worthing in his Mazda.
- Kristian Buqa, 31, held the stash in Worthing and prepared it for street deals.
- Christian Violi, 34, of Southsea, and Saimir Jaho, 31, of Hove, were the local delivery drivers distributing the drugs.
- Fatma Hasa, 26, from Wembley, ran the entire “Gesti” County Line drug network from her base.
- Xhonatan Matei, 38, caught on the A24 with cocaine while heading to restock the ring, completing the gang.
Harsh Sentences for Class A Kingpins
- Fatma Hasa got six years and nine months in prison.
- Kristian Buqa received six years inside.
- Naim Shala locked up for five years.
- Christian Violi got a two-year suspended sentence with 180 hours of community work.
- Saimir Jaho also got a two-year suspended sentence.
- Xhonatan Matei faces charges of cocaine possession and supply.
