Child Image Predator Jordan Courtney Locked Up for Four Years
Jordan Leigh Courtney, 25, was slapped with a four-year jail term today at York Crown Court. Formerly of Cawder Road, Skipton, and now with no fixed address, Courtney was also hit with an extended two-year licence and slapped with an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Repeat Offender Caught with Worst Child Abuse Images
Courtney was first convicted back in 2016 for making and sharing indecent images of children. He was banned from owning any internet-enabled device and forced to check in weekly with police.
But it all went downhill in April 2022 when officers discovered he had wiped data from a mobile phone. A forensic probe by North Yorkshire Police uncovered a stash of sickening indecent images—some in the most extreme Category A. He was sent straight back to prison for breaching his Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
More Disturbing Evidence Found at Home
While behind bars, police searched Courtney’s former home. They found another secret phone loaded with horrifying Category A images and videos. On release, Courtney was immediately arrested again.
Faced with the mountain of evidence, he pleaded guilty to:
- Four breaches of his Sexual Harm Prevention Order
- Six charges of making indecent images of children
- Four charges of possessing extreme illegal images
- Two charges of distributing Category A images
Police Slam “Utter Disregard” for the Law
“Courtney showed utter disregard for the restrictions placed upon him by being in possession of these images. He has repeatedly ignored the courts and amassed the most disturbing content,” said Detective Constable Tom Sutcliffe of the Online Abuse and Exploitation Team. “Those who obtain and share child abuse material directly contribute to the ongoing sexual exploitation and re-victimisation of children.” “Thanks to our Digital Forensic Unit and dedicated officers, Courtney couldn’t deny the charges. This evidence has landed him back behind bars where he belongs.” “This sentence sends a clear message: we will track down anyone involved with indecent images of children and use every tool to hold them accountable.” “We’re now working globally to identify and protect the children in these horrific images.”
