Five Years on: Hunt Continues for Missing Sarah

Sarah vanished on the evening of 9 October 2018 in Bazes Shaw. She was reported missing two days later, sparking a huge investigation.

Ex-Partner Jailed for Life

Her ex-partner, Ben Lacomba, was arrested and in 2019 convicted of her murder. He received a life sentence with a minimum of 27 years behind bars.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil Kimber said: “Lacomba has never revealed what he did to Sarah. Sadly, her body remains missing. Though justice has been served, not knowing where she is continues to cause deep pain for her loved ones.”

Massive Search Effort Still Underway

Police believe Lacomba transported Sarah’s body in his red Vauxhall Zafira taxi — a vehicle marked like a taxi. Investigators think he concealed her remains in rural areas near New Ash Green, Longfield, or towards Sevenoaks.

This search is one of Kent Police’s largest ever. Over 1,300 locations were scoured, with 120 officers involved daily. The operation employed police dogs, drones, and the marine unit to comb the area.

Call for New Leads

Detective Kimber urges the public to recall anything suspicious from five years ago. “No detail is too small,” he said. “Sarah was a beloved daughter, sister, and mother to five children. She would have turned 52 this year.”

“We remain determined to uncover the truth and give Sarah’s family the chance to finally lay her to rest.”
