Ex-Con Tenant Threatens Staff with Scissors in Bassetlaw Robbery

Jason Emmingham, 40, turned violent at a supported housing complex in Bircotes, Bassetlaw, after just returning from prison. The troublemaker had been allowed to keep his room despite being deep in rent arrears.

Scary Standoff in Staff Office

Staff became suspicious when Emmingham was caught fiddling with door handles. When confronted in the office, he snapped. Grabbing a pair of scissors, he threatened to kill the staff member and demanded cash.

£480 and Bank Cards Stolen in Bold Robbery

In a brazen grab, Emmingham snatched around £480, bank cards, and other valuables from a tenant-safe. He fled the scene but didn’t get far.

Caught Fast and Jailed for Three Years

Police zeroed in on Emmingham the same day. Officers later found the scissors and stolen goods dumped in a nearby garden. The no-fixed-abode crook pleaded guilty to robbery and was slammed with a three-year jail sentence at nottingham/" title="Nottingham" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Nottingham Crown Court on 16 November.
