Predator Trevor Hawker Jailed for Child Rape and Abuse
Trevor Hawker, 42, launched his vile attacks in 2008. He then repeatedly abused another young girl from 2014 to 2018, including raping her multiple times.
Victims’ Courage Brings Monster to Justice
When grilled by police, Hawker denied all charges, branding his victims liars. But a jury saw through his lies and found him guilty this March. He was convicted of:
- Two counts of raping a girl under 13
- Nine counts of sexual assault by touching
- Two further counts of sexual assault
All offences occurred in properties around Nottinghamshire.
Abuse Only Stopped After Victim Spoke Out
Hawker’s reign of terror ended only when one victim confided in a friend. A second victim then came forward during the investigation.
Today at Nottingham Crown Court, Hawker, from Worksop, was jailed. He now faces a lifetime ban on working with children and must register as a sex offender indefinitely. A Sexual Harm Prevention Order was also imposed.
Police Praise Brave Victims
“I would like to commend the bravery and the courage of the survivors in this case, as their evidence has enabled us to put a dangerous man behind bars,” said DC Dave Randall.
“They disclosed the most horrendous sexual abuse and today’s sentence reflects the gravity of what Hawker subjected them to.
“By refusing to admit his crimes, Hawker forced both victims to relive their horrific ordeals during the trial. I hope they gain strength and solace seeing him behind bars.”
Nottinghamshire Police pledged to handle all reports of sexual abuse with “professionalism, compassion and determination.” They urged victims and witnesses to come forward without fear.
