Late-Night Rampage in Kent Village: Windows Smashed and Police Assaulted

Shops Targeted in Midnight Vandalism

Just after midnight on Tuesday, 7 March 2023, Kent Police were called to reports of smashed windows at two shops in a quiet village on Station Road.

Constable Attacked During Arrest

Officers quickly arrived and found a 19-year-old man, later identified as Cameron Jeffery from Vale Road, Cranbrook. During the arrest, a constable was allegedly assaulted. Jeffery was taken into custody.

Trouble Turns to Trouble in Custody

Back at the police station, Jeffery is accused of causing damage to one of the cells. The chaos didn’t end with the initial rampage.

Serious Charges and Court Appearance

  • Cameron Jeffery faces three counts of criminal damage.
  • He is charged with assaulting an emergency worker.
  • Also charged with being drunk and disorderly in public.

The 19-year-old appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 18 March and was remanded to Maidstone Crown Court for a hearing, date yet to be announced.
