Suspected Burglar Busted After Van Theft in Ashford

A suspected thief is set to face court over a daring van theft and burglary in Ashford.

TV and Van Keys Stolen in Bank Street Break-In

Kent Police revealed that on Wednesday 24 June 2020, a burglary at a Bank Street home saw a television and van keys taken. The stolen van was reported missing shortly after.

Van Recovered – But Tools and Battery Packs Vanish

The stolen vehicle was found soon after in Works Lane. However, several tools and battery packs originally inside the van were nowhere to be found.

Lee Darling Charged and Held in Custody

Lee Darling, 46, from Gravelly Field, Ashford, was charged on Thursday 9 July with theft of a vehicle without consent, burglary, and theft from a vehicle.

“He remains in custody and will appear via virtual link at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 10 July,” confirmed police.
