Nottinghamshire Police Smash Suspected Drug Ring in Arnold and Bestwood
Nottinghamshire Police swooped on suspected drug dealers in Arnold and Bestwood, executing a series of coordinated raids that have shaken up local County Lines operations. Teams targeted properties in Gedling and Mapperley, uncovering a haul of drugs, cash, mobile phones, and drug paraphernalia believed linked to criminal activity.
Three Arrested in Crackdown on Class A Drug Supply
- Three individuals were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the supply of Class A drugs.
- An 18-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man are out on bail pending further investigations.
- Nineteen-year-old Leo Roberts-Barton of Stanhope Road, Gedling, was charged and appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on November 25, 2022.
County Lines Gangs Target Vulnerable Locals
County Lines gangs exploit children and vulnerable adults to transport and store drugs across the UK. These criminal networks use dedicated mobile phone lines and often rely on violence and coercion to enforce their operations.
Detective Inspector Nikki Smith of Nottinghamshire Police said: “This was a great joined-up team effort across the force with an excellent outcome. I’d like to thank the officers in the County Lines team who have worked tirelessly and the other policing teams who helped us carry out these raids.
The exploitation of minors and vulnerable people in County Lines drug dealing is a massive concern. We will continue to act decisively to safeguard those forced or coerced into this criminality.”
