Teen locked up for breaching criminal behaviour order in Hackney
O’Garro sentenced to 18 weeks in youth detention
Bacari-Bronze O’Garro, 19, of Manor Road, Hackney, was handed 18 weeks at a young offenders institute for breaching his criminal behaviour order (CBO) on 24 May. He also received 14 weeks for a separate offence committed before 7 July. Both sentences will run concurrently.
Restrictions slammed on social media and trespassing
Along with detention, O’Garro was slapped with a £154 victim surcharge and a two-year CBO lasting until November 2025. The order bans him from trespassing on private property and entering the E20 postcode area, unless for pre-arranged child contact or using public transport. He is also barred from sharing or collaborating on video footage, and prohibited from contributing to social media accounts other than his own.
Detective Inspector: “No one is above the law”
“I think it is an appropriate outcome. When you have disregard for the law, I think this was a fitting sentence and I hope that O’Garro gets some help,” said DCI Yasmin Lalani, Central East Command.
“This sends a loud and clear message that nobody is above the law and must be held accountable.”
“The community were upset by the disrespect for the law and the distress caused to people from the very young to the elderly. This result is right for the public.”
She also thanked District Crown Prosecutor Varinder Hayre for their dedication, stressing the outcome wouldn’t have been possible without their work.
