Looming menace Luke Hancock jailed for brutal assault spree!
Violent rampage just days after meeting victim
On 3 December 2022, Luke Hancock, 33, launched a vicious attack on a woman he’d only just met. Things quickly spiralled out of control.
Baseball bat beating leaves man bruised and battered
After a heated argument, Hancock didn’t stop at the woman. He pummeled a man with a baseball bat, landing blows to the head, body, and legs, leaving his victim in pain and covered in bruises. The weapon was handed to Hancock by 35-year-old Ricky Wilding, sparking a savage assault.
Court hands down jail and suspended sentence
- Hancock pleaded guilty to assault causing actual bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon, assault by beating, malicious communications, and criminal damage.
- He was jailed for two years and slapped with a five-year restraining order.
- Wilding from Bilborough received an eight-month suspended sentence and must complete 120 hours of unpaid work plus 20 days of rehabilitation activity.
Both men were locked up at Nottingham Crown Court on 28 March 2023.
Police warn: Dangerous offender off the streets
“These were nasty and serious offences which must have been extremely frightening ordeals for the victims,” said Detective Constable Jodie Turton, Nottinghamshire Police.
“Hancock became obsessed with the woman, with repeated threatening behaviour that left her terrified for herself and her children.
“He then committed a brutal assault on a man with a baseball bat. The victim was lucky to escape more serious injury.
“I’m pleased this dangerous individual is now behind bars and hope the victims find some comfort in this sentence.”
