Drug Boss Nicola Stevens Busted in Massive UK Cocaine Bust
Nicola Stevens and five gang members were arrested last April, bringing down a major criminal network. The Organised Crime Partnership (OCP) of the Metropolitan Police cracked the case wide open thanks to encrypted messaging service EncroChat, which had been taken offline during Operation Venetic in July 2020.
Encrypted Chats Exposed Crime Empire
Stevens’ crew ran their shady business via EncroChat, a secure app used by criminals until the police infiltration. Investigators uncovered evidence showing the gang moved a staggering 786 kilos of cocaine and handled £5 million in cash.
£27.5 Million Crime Fortune Uncovered
Authorities estimate the gang raked in at least £27.5 million from their illegal sales. The bust is a huge win in the fight against Class A drug supply, a top priority for UK law enforcement.
