Knife Attack in Ashton-Under-Lyne
The harrowing attack took place shortly before 11pm on Sunday, November 17, 2019. Police rushed to a Townsley Grove address after reports of a stabbing.
Officers found the victim with a stab wound to the thigh and recovered the kitchen knife, which had been thrown behind a sofa. Despite his injury, the man locked himself in the kitchen and called the police for help.
Detective’s Warning After ‘Vicious’ Assault
Detective Constable Natalie Fairhurst from GMP’s Tameside district described the attack as “vicious” and “truly horrific and brutal.”
“Dean is a dangerous individual and I hope that today’s sentence sends a clear message that this type of violent behaviour will not be tolerated,” Fairhurst said. “It gives Dean the time she needs to reflect on the impact of her actions.”
Lifelong Restraining Order Issued
Alongside the prison term, Dean was slapped with a lifelong restraining order to protect the victim.
This grim case serves as a stark reminder that violent crimes, especially involving knives, will meet tough sentences in the UK justice system.
