Tragic Toddler Dies After Brutal Head Injuries
Leila Borrington, 23, claimed three-year-old Harvey Borrington had simply fallen from a chair and hit his head. But paramedics found the boy unresponsive at her home in Jacksdale on 7 August last year.
Harvey later died in hospital from serious head injuries. Medical experts uncovered the horrific truth: his injuries were caused by repeated blows, not a one-off accident.
Multiple Injuries Revealed
- Harvey had several older injuries, including a broken arm.
- Borrington, who is not Harvey’s mother, was caring for him at the time.
Justice on the Horizon
Instead of calling 999, Borrington failed to seek urgent help. She now faces multiple charges, including assault.
Her sentencing is set for 16 [date redacted].
“As a police officer I am pleased with the decision of the jury,” said one officer, “but I am acutely aware that it offers no consolation to those left behind.”
“This has been a very lengthy and difficult investigation, and I thank everyone involved in getting us to this point.”
