Woman Dies After Horror Garratt Lane Crash

Tragedy struck Garratt Lane, SW18, in the early hours of Wednesday, 3 January. At 1:30am, police were called to a serious collision involving a motorcycle and a Honda Civic.

Motorcycle Passenger Critically Injured

Emergency services rushed to the scene. A 25-year-old woman riding as a pillion passenger on the motorcycle was critically injured. Despite medics’ best efforts at the scene, she sadly died in a West London hospital on 4 January.

The male rider, believed to be in his 40s, was also taken to hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.

Driver Arrested Over Drug Driving Suspicions

The 22-year-old driver of the Honda Civic was arrested on suspicion of drug driving causing serious injury. He was taken to a West London police station and later bailed, pending further inquiries, to appear in court in March.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Officers urge anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam footage to come forward. Call police on 101 or message @MetCC on X quoting reference CAD 385/3JAN.
