Control Freak Anthony Pendleton Jailed for Abuse

Anthony Pendleton, 32, has been locked up for two years and five months after emotionally controlling and threatening his victim. The survivor was isolated, intimidated, and prevented from living a normal life.

Isolated and Intimidated

  • Pendleton stopped the victim from speaking to family and friends.
  • He controlled her appearance by banning certain clothes and makeup.
  • He made violent threats against her and damaged property in fits of rage.

Pendleton, of Winchester Close, Worksop, pleaded guilty to controlling and coercive behaviour and criminal damage at nottingham/" title="Nottingham" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Nottingham Crown Court.

Silent 999 Call Reveals Abuse

The abuse came to light after the victim called 999 but stayed silent. Officers overheard threats from Pendleton in the background. A neighbour also reported disturbances during the early hours on 14 May 2022.

Following an argument, Pendleton even ripped a door off its hinges at the victim’s home.

“This has taken an emotional toll on both her and her family. I wish her the very best in rebuilding her life and regaining her confidence.”
