New Year’s Day Drink-Driver Caught Swerving Dangerously on A34

Police have arrested a drink driver after members of the public reported reckless driving on the A34. Officers tracked the vehicle, witnessing dangerous manoeuvres caught on onboard cameras. The driver swerved between lanes while speeding up to 89mph, then slowed to just 19mph in a national speed limit zone.

High-Speed Chaos on a Notoriously Deadly Road

The Hampshire roads policing unit, backed by 1 Valley roads policing, forced the vehicle to stop. Officers noted how lucky it was that few other drivers were on this stretch, known for fatal crashes.

Failing Breath Test Lands Driver in Custody

The driver refused to provide a roadside breath specimen and was taken into custody. Later tests revealed a reading of 62 micrograms per 100ml of breath, almost double the UK legal limit of 35. The driver has now been charged and awaits court proceedings.
