Step-Daughter and Boyfriend Convicted of Murdering Frank McKeever

Frank McKeever, 63, vanished after visiting his step-daughter Surie Suksiri and her boyfriend Juned Sheikh at their Highbury flat on 28 August 2021. Reported missing nearly two weeks later, the mystery surrounding his disappearance has now ended in a murder conviction.

Shocking Confession Leads to Arrests

Detectives launched an intense investigation after Frank’s phone and bank accounts showed no activity post-visit. CCTV captured Frank near the Highbury flat that same night. Surie and Juned, the last known people to see him alive, were first arrested in late September and early October 2021 but released under investigation.

In a dramatic turn, on 17 October 2022, Surie confessed to a witness that she and Juned had murdered Frank. She admitted they “battered the f*ck out of him” before buying a car to dispose of his body somewhere “eighty miles” from London. Surie also claimed past abuse by Frank, though no evidence supported this.

Evidence Backs Up Chilling Claims

  • Phone records showed the couple hunting for a cheap car days after Frank’s disappearance.
  • Surie pawned £200 worth of Frank’s jewellery shortly after, believed to fund the vehicle purchase.
  • Detectives confirmed details from Surie’s confession against gathered evidence.

Both were re-arrested on 20 October 2022 and charged with Frank’s murder. Despite a relentless search, his body remains missing.

Detectives Plead for Public Help

Detective Inspector Laura Nelson, leading the case, said: “This verdict is the result of over two years of painstaking detective work. While justice has been served, Frank’s family are left grieving without closure as his body remains missing.”

Searches have spanned London’s West Reservoir, Finsbury Park, Northamptonshire’s Welford Truck Stop, and Lutterworth in Leicestershire — all yielding no trace.

Nelson added that the investigation continues and urged anyone with information to contact the team on 020 8358 0300. Crimestoppers is also offering a reward for tips leading to Frank’s whereabouts.

Conviction Details

Surie Suksiri, 31, from Highbury, and Juned Sheikh, 48, from Southwark, were found guilty of murder and preventing a lawful burial at The Old Bailey on 7 November. Sentencing is scheduled for 20 November.
