Andover Paedophile Caught Filming Kids with Camera Pen Jailed for Nearly Five Years

A vile paedophile from Andover has been locked up for nearly five years after secretly filming children with a camera pen. John Fielding, 46, of Old Winton Road, was sentenced to four years and ten months at bristol/" title="Bristol" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Bristol Crown Court on July 22.

Sleazy Offences Exposed in Lidl

Fielding’s twisted crimes came to light when a suspicious shopper at Lidl on Western Avenue, Andover, confronted him on May 27. With help from other customers, they detained him until cops arrived.

Police found a covert camera pen in his bag, sparking a full investigation.

Hidden Horrors Uncovered by Police

Investigators from Hampshire Constabulary discovered Fielding had used the camera pen and a GoPro to film children and young people in public places across the South and South West England.

Officers also uncovered thousands of indecent images on Fielding’s computer, downloaded since January 29 this year.

Harsh Sentence and Orders for Fielding

  • Sexual Harm Prevention Order indefinitely
  • Placement on Sexual Offenders Register indefinitely

Fielding pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including outraging public decency, making indecent images of children, possessing prohibited images, extreme pornography, and breaching a Sexual Offences Prevention Order.

“John Fielding is a devious man who used covert methods to film children in public places,” said PC Stephen Court.

“This offending came to light thanks to the actions and bravery of a vigilant member of public who spotted Fielding acting suspiciously in the Andover Lidl store on May 27.

“I want to thank this customer and the others who detained Fielding until police arrived. This case shows we take such crimes very seriously and are determined to bring offenders to justice.”
