Ashford Brothers Slammed with 21 Years for Massive Cocaine Operation
Derrick Duo Caught in Cocaine Crackdown
David and Damien Derrick from Ashford have been sentenced to a combined 21 years after cops smashed their huge drug ring. The brothers first raised red flags in 2021 when police gathered intel showing they were flooding the local streets with Class A drugs.
On November 15, 2021, officers stopped a car linked to their network in Ashford. Inside, they uncovered 3kg of prime cocaine tucked away in a secret compartment. The driver, acting as a courier, later admitted guilt and was handed five years behind bars.
Phone Records and Raids Expose Widespread Drug Dealing
Police analysis of phone logs revealed this was no one-off deal. David ran the operation while Damien acted mainly as the courier. February 2022 raids on both brothers’ homes uncovered a staggering haul: cocaine, cannabis, £8,000 in cash, six Rolex watches, a knuckle duster, and an imitation firearm.
Further searches of David’s safety deposit boxes uncovered 26 more Rolex watches and two gold bars, highlighting the vast drug money rolling in.
Jury Passes Down Tough Sentences at Canterbury Crown Court
- Damien Derrick, 38, Kennington: Eight years in prison.
- David Derrick, 43, Kennington: Thirteen years behind bars.
Detective Constable Aaron Chapman said: “Through painstaking analysis of phone records, ANPR data and intelligence sources, we exposed the true scale of the Derrick brothers’ operation. “The sentences handed down reflect the seriousness of their offending and the damage caused by Class A drugs to a community. This should serve as a clear warning to anyone seeking to profit from this kind of criminality.”
