Bognor Burglars Nabbed After Late-Night Raid on Riverside Caravan Park
Two crooks have been busted following a brazen break-in at Riverside Caravan Park’s arcade in Bognor. Cops rushed to The Arcade on Shripney Road at around 2:30 AM on April 30 after a late-night burglary alarm.
Suspects Caught Red-Handed Near Tesco
Officers quickly tracked down Tristram Francis and Mark Mullinder at a nearby Tesco on Shripney Road. A search revealed they were hauling stolen loot including coins, arcade tokens, tools, and even knives. Investigations at the scene showed a 2p slot machine was smashed open, with several fruit machines damaged in the raid.
Charged With Burglary and Knife Offences
- Both men were arrested and charged with burglary with intent to steal, possession of a knife, and going equipped to steal.
- Tristram Francis, 41, of no fixed address, pled guilty to two counts of burglary and knife possession at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on May 1. He’s now behind bars awaiting sentencing.
- Mark Mullinder, 45, from Marrion Avenue, Bognor, also admitted guilt and has been released on conditional bail.
Sentencing Dates Set
Francis faces sentencing at Lewes Crown Court, while Mullinder’s hearing is scheduled at Brighton Magistrates’ Court. Both are set for May 29.
