Brighton Stabbing Drama: Armed Police Save Life
Armed cops from the Tactical Firearms Unit (TFU) raced to Ship Street in Brighton just before 2am on June 22 after reports of a brutal stabbing. A 26-year-old man was found with a life-threatening wound.
Heroic First Aid on Scene
The victim’s condition was critical, but thanks to swift action and advanced first aid from the armed officers working alongside paramedics, the man was stabilised and rushed to hospital. Thankfully, he has since recovered and been discharged.
One Arrested and Charged
Police arrested 18-year-old Harvey Dannsah-Appiah from Monkswell Green, Bournemouth. He faces charges of attempted murder. He appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on July 11 and is due back at Lewes Crown Court on August 8, held in custody.
Police Praise Armed Officers’ Life-Saving Skills
“This was a grave assault where a man incurred a life-threatening stab wound,” said TFU Inspector Oli Fisher. “Our firearms officers are not just trained for armed response; they also provide critical first aid that saves lives. Their professionalism under pressure was outstanding.”
Sussex Police are still investigating and urge witnesses or anyone with info to come forward online, quoting Operation Inwood.
