Burglar Nabbed and Banged Up Just Days After Raiding Two Sevenoaks Eateries

Rapid Arrest After Dual Break-ins

Stephen Clark’s crime spree lasted less than an hour. The 49-year-old broke into two town centre restaurants in Sevenoaks within 30 minutes. But police were straight on the case and caught him hiding under a counter at the second venue.

Targets and Damage

Clark struck at a Dorset Street venue and then Budare in The Shambles on the night of Friday 31 May 2024, between 10.30pm and 11pm. He smashed glass panels, door frames, and locks to get inside – leaving behind a trail of damage and stolen cash.

Swift Justice Served

Officers arrested Clark on the spot and charged him with two counts of burglary. At Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on Monday 3 June, he was locked up for 12 months. Clark, a known repeat offender, won’t be on the streets anytime soon.

Police Praise Fast Response

“Clark caused considerable damage to both premises and stole cash, hitting local business owners hard,” said Police Sergeant James Page of the West Division Victim-Based Crime Team.

“I am thankful to the officers who responded quickly to the emergency call and arrested Clark swiftly. Their teamwork ensured this repeat offender didn’t escape justice.”
