Massive Cannabis Farm Busted in Hove
In August 2025, police raided a property on Wish Road, Hove, following suspicions about illegal activity. What they uncovered was jaw-dropping — nearly every room was crammed with cannabis plants and grow equipment. The electrical setup was also dangerously rigged, bypassing meters to power the operation.
Hiding in the Loft: Dealer Nabbed
During the search, officers found a man hidden inside plastic lining in the loft. He was quickly arrested. Using a fake name at first, he was later identified as 39-year-old Hung Nguyen, who lives on the same street.
Nguyen’s Weak Excuse Falls Flat
Nguyen claimed he didn’t know what kind of plants he was growing. The jury wasn’t having it. He faced charges including illegal use of electricity, resisting arrest, and producing and supplying a Class B drug. He appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on 15 August and was remanded in custody.
Guilty Verdict and Jail Time
Nguyen’s trial kicked off at Brighton Crown Court on 11 February. Just two days later, the jury found him guilty of producing a Class B drug. Other charges were dropped. Nguyen was sentenced to 18 months behind bars the very same day.
