Drug Dealer Busted with £3,700 Worth of Cocaine in Gillingham Flat Raid
Roland Lake Nabbed in Gillingham Sting
Roland Lake, 42, from Ashford, has been locked up for two and a half years after being caught with cocaine and cannabis in Gillingham. Police stopped him on 2 June 2020 after spotting a suspicious handover to a woman in Richmond Road.
Plain-Clothed Officers Make the Call
Undercover cops, watching Lake at around 8pm, grew suspicious and searched him under the Misuse of Drugs Act. They found eight bags of cocaine, two mobiles, and cash on him.
£3,700 of Cocaine Seized from His Flat
Further searches at a flat on the same street uncovered 55 bags of cocaine worth £3,700, plus scales, cash, and some cannabis. Lake was charged with possession with intent to supply and possession of cannabis.
Police Urge Others to Think Twice
Investigating officer PC Mike Williams said: “This sentencing shows how vital plain-clothed officers are in Kent Police. Without their sharp eyes, Lake would’ve kept dealing drugs to the vulnerable. His sentence reflects the seriousness of his crimes and should put others off following in his footsteps.”
