Blue Ford Focus Chase Ends in Hempstead Crash

Police in Rainham spotted a man driving a blue Ford Focus at around 11am on Sunday 15 September 2024. He was suspected of assault. Officers followed the car into the Tesco car park near Hoath Way, where it smashed into two other vehicles.

The chase ended on Hempstead Road, where the driver was finally stopped. A man was arrested shortly after.

Driver Charged with Dangerous Driving and Assault

Charlie Patrick, 35, from Silverweed Road, Chatham, was charged the next day. His charges include dangerous driving, driving without insurance, and driving without a proper licence. Patrick also faces assault and property damage threats from an incident on Monday 19 August.

He appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday 16 September. Patrick was remanded to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday 15 October.

Police Hunt for Dashcam Footage

Authorities are urging motorists with dashcam footage from the time and area of the incident to come forward. Anyone with information should contact Kent Police on 01634 792209, quoting reference 46/YY/14494/24.
