A Derby delivery driver’s sneaky burglary spree ended with him behind bars. Marek Pecha, 44, was nabbed after police matched his fingerprints to a string of bungled break-in attempts.
Caught Red-Handed on CCTV Trying to Break In
Pecha, from Belgrave Street, Derby, pleaded guilty to three counts of attempted burglary with intent to steal. His crimes unfolded in the early hours of 17 September.
CCTV footage showed him jiggling front doors and peering through car windows at two homes on Station Road, Stanley. Another clip caught him tampering with a door on Shaftesbury Avenue, Sandiacre—all within a few hours.
One Year Inside for Failed Burglary Blitz
Following police tips, officers raided Pecha’s home and discovered clothes matching those seen on the CCTV footage.
On 2 December at Chesterfield Magistrates’ Court, the delivery driver was handed a one-year prison sentence, paying the price for his clumsy crime spree.
