Shock Stabbing on Bournemouth Beach: Woman Fatally Wounded
Dorset Police have launched a full-scale probe after a woman was fatally stabbed on Durley Chine Beach, Bournemouth. The victim has been named as 34-year-old Amie Gray from Poole.
Violent Night on the Beach
The horror unfolded shortly before midnight on Friday, May 24, 2024. At 11.42pm, officers were called to reports of a stabbing involving two individuals. Amie Gray tragically died at the scene. Another woman, 38, also from Poole, suffered serious injuries and remains hospitalised.
17-Year-Old Arrested and Released
Police swiftly arrested a 17-year-old boy from Lancashire on suspicion of murder. But after fast-paced enquiries over the weekend, he was released without charge and is no longer a suspect in the case.
Police Appeal for Information
Detective Superintendent Richard Dixey, leading the Major Crime Investigation Team, has urged the public to help identify the suspect shown in CCTV footage.
“If you recognise this man or have any information – no matter how small – please contact us immediately,” Dixey said.
“Do not approach the suspect under any circumstances but call 999 without delay if you see him.”

Police are especially keen to hear from anyone with dash-cam or CCTV footage of Durley Chine Beach and surrounding areas between 10pm and midnight on May 24.
