£2 Million Worth of Cannabis Seized
Detective Inspector Pete Mullan from the PSNI’s Organised Crime Unit applauded the outcomes after a major police operation snagged £2 million worth of cannabis off the streets. “This conviction underlines our ongoing fight to stop drugs flooding into our communities,” he said.
PSNI Warns: Cannabis Isn’t Harmless
“While there’s ongoing debate about cannabis legalisation, it remains illegal and dangerous. The local drug trade ruins lives,” DI Mullan said. “Cannabis damages physical and mental health and is the top drug for people needing addiction treatment in Northern Ireland.”
“Drug dealers don’t care about communities — they use violence and intimidation to keep control. Every pound spent on cannabis feeds organised crime and fuels other criminal acts.”
