Man Dies After Brutal Assault in Folkestone

Kent Police rushed to New Street just after 1.15pm on Thursday, 6 October 2022, following reports of a violent attack on a man.

The victim, 49, suffered a serious head injury and was airlifted to a London hospital. Tragically, he died three days later on Sunday, 9 October.

Two Charged Over Fatal Attack

Mark Green, 41, from East Cliff, Folkestone, and Ruben Smith, 18, of Foord Road South, Folkestone, have been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Both men appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 8 October. They were remanded in custody and are due back at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday, 7 November.

Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward

Detectives are continuing their investigation and want anyone who saw the attack or has dashcam footage from New Street on that day to get in touch.
