Hairdresser Alan Luckhurst Avoids Jail Despite Multiple Sexual Assault Convictions

Salon Boss Found Guilty of Sexual Assault

Alan Luckhurst, 36, from Worcester Park, Surrey, was found guilty at Kingston Crown Court of eight sexual assaults and two offences involving causing others to engage in sexual activity without consent.

The disturbing case dates back to 2017 when a 17-year-old girl reported that Luckhurst assaulted her during a work placement at a hair salon.

Suspended Jail Sentence and Restrictions

On Monday 27 March 2023, Luckhurst was handed a six-month prison sentence — but it was suspended for 18 months.

He was also slapped with a sexual harm prevention order banning him from employing or managing anyone under 18.

More Victims Come Forward

While on bail following the initial charges, Luckhurst shockingly opened his own salon in Kingston.

In 2021, a second 17-year-old apprentice reported that he had sexually assaulted her weeks after she began working there.

Luckhurst denied all allegations, claiming he was just “a tactile person” and sometimes demonstrated “head massages.”

Police Call for Other Victims to Speak Out

Detective Constable Natalie Alchin said: “Luckhurst completely abused his position as manager of these young women and took advantage of being alone with them during their time at work. The offences have had a serious impact on both their personal and professional lives. They have shown tremendous bravery in coming forward and giving evidence.

We believe there may be other victims. Anyone who has information should get in touch. We have specialist support and will take your claims seriously.”

Anyone with information should call 101 referencing 1369/4APR23.
