Late-Night Assault and Robbery Shocks Ravenside Retail Park

A woman in her 20s was left seriously injured after a terrifying robbery outside Ravenside Retail Park, N18, just before midnight on Saturday, 23 December 2023.

Man Stalks Victim From Walthamstow Bus, Snatches Phone

The ordeal began when the woman boarded a bus at Walthamstow Market. She noticed a man staring at her through the bus shelter. The same man got on the bus and tried to start a conversation, but she ignored him.

Once she got off near Ravenside Retail Park, the man followed her. Approaching a bridge crossing a busy dual carriageway, he put his arm around her shoulders before violently snatching her phone and fleeing the scene.

Victim Suffers Serious Leg Injury

The attack left the woman hospitalised with a serious leg injury. Police say the robbery was a “cowardly act” targeting a lone woman walking home late at night.

Detective Constable Charlotte Joseph, of the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command, said: “Not only did the woman need hospital treatment following this incident but robbery is a horrible crime that can leave a lasting impact on victims.

“We have been working hard to identify this man but to no avail so we are releasing his image to the public in the hope that someone recognises him.

“This was a cowardly act, targeting a lone woman as she walked home. Please help us identify the person responsible so he can be held to account for his actions.”

Police Appeal for Witnesses to Identify Suspect

Anyone who recognises the man pictured or has information is urged to contact police immediately. Call 101 or tweet @MetCC and quote CAD 7526/23Dec23 to assist the investigation.
