A business on Lowdham Road, Gunthorpe, was hit not once, but five times in 2022. The attacks ran from January through December, leaving the company with hundreds of thousands of pounds in damages.

Arson Hits Business Hard

The repeated attacks caused massive havoc, with fire service teams rushing to contain the blazes each time. The company took a serious financial hit due to the destruction.

Suspect Caught and Charged

Police have now charged 40-year-old Omar Abdullah Omar of Charlbury 123. He was arrested following a detailed and complex investigation.

“These incidents were extremely costly for the business but thanks to the swift efforts of our fire service colleagues they were quickly contained,” Omar said.

“It needs repeating though that any arson attack can have catastrophic consequences which is why we treat incidents like this with such seriousness.”
