Man Charged After Woman Found Dead in Whitechapel
David Cheres, 19, from Ellen Street, Whitechapel, appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, January 27. The court appearance follows a tragic incident at a property on Ellen Street.
Woman Found Dead with Serious Injuries
Police were called to the address at 8.17am on Sunday, January 24, following concerns for a woman’s welfare. Emergency services discovered a 43-year-old woman, later identified as Tiprat Argatu, dead at the scene.
A post-mortem revealed she died from severe neck and head injuries. Her next of kin have been informed.
Investigation Ongoing, One Man Released
A 24-year-old man arrested the same day has been released without charge. Detectives from Specialist Crime (Homicide) are actively investigating the case.
