Teen Charged with Murder After Brutal Lea Bridge Road Stabbing
Two 18-Year-Olds in Custody Over Deadly Attack
Alexis Morris, 18, from South Park Drive, Ilford, was charged on Tuesday, 23 March with the murder of Hussain Chaudhry. He also faces two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent for slashing injuries inflicted on a man in his 20s and a woman in her 40s during the same incident.
Additionally, Morris has been charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.
Meanwhile, Anthony Nguyen, 18, from Lyndon Road, Belvedere, was charged with assisting an offender on the same day. Both men have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on 23 March.
Fatal Stabbing Caught Police Off Guard
Police rushed to Lea Bridge Road near Grove Road at around 5.20pm on Wednesday, 17 March after reports of a stabbing. Emergency services found 18-year-old Hussain Chaudhry dead at the scene.
A post-mortem revealed Hussain died from hypovolemic shock caused by a stab wound to the neck.
Two other victims—a man in his 20s and a woman in her 40s, both related to Hussain—were hospitalised with slash wounds to their hands. They have since been discharged.
Another Teen Also Charged in Same Case
Marvin Ward, 18, of Westwood Road, Ilford, was charged on Sunday, 21 March with Hussain’s murder, two counts of attempted murder relating to the two injured victims, robbery, and possession of an offensive weapon.
Ward appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 22 March.
