Three Teens Charged Over Fatal Woolwich Stabbing
Three boys, aged 14, 15, and 17, have been charged over a brutal stabbing in Woolwich that left one teen dead and another injured.
Charges: Murder, Attempted Murder & Weapon Possession
On Saturday, 10 July, police charged the 14-year-old and 15-year-old boys with murder, attempted murder, and possession of an offensive weapon. The 17-year-old, arrested the same day, faces identical charges.
These young suspects are due to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 12 July.
Victim Named as 15-Year-Old Tamim Ian Habimana
The tragedy unfolded on Monday, 5 July, at 5.23pm when officers rushed to Woolwich New Road after reports of a stabbing. They found 15-year-old Tamim Ian Habimana with a single stab wound.
Despite immediate first aid and ambulance efforts, Tamim was pronounced dead at the scene at 6.08pm. Specialist officers are supporting his next of kin.
Second Teen Survives Stabbing
A second 15-year-old victim turned up at a London hospital shortly after, suffering a non-life-threatening stab wound. Police say the incident is still under investigation.
Earlier Court Appearance for Another Teen Suspect
Another 15-year-old boy was charged on Friday, 9 July, with the same offences. He appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Saturday and will next appear at the Old Bailey on Monday, 12 July.
