An 18-year-old man handed himself in to police today, Tuesday 6 December, and was arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody as investigations continue.
Police Search for Second Man Caught on CCTV
Detectives are still desperate to find another man seen on CCTV at the Carnival where the attack happened.
Detective Inspector Laura Semple, Specialist Crime, said: “Do you know who this person is? He was caught on CCTV at the Carnival and we still urgently need to trace him. If you can help or have any information – no matter how small – about Takayo’s murder, please come forward.”
Brutal Stabbing of Rapper Takayo
Takayo, 21, a Bristol rapper, tragically died after being stabbed at around 8pm on Monday, 29 August, in Ladbroke Grove under the Westway flyover. He was visiting the Carnival with his sister and friends when he was attacked. A post-mortem confirmed he died from a stab wound to the right femoral artery.
Witnesses Urged to Come Forward
Hundreds were in the area when the murder took place, and police believe there are many potential witnesses. Detectives want to hear from anyone who was filming or photographing nearby at the time and may hold crucial footage.

Four Others Arrested in Connection
- On 19 October, a 23-year-old and an 18-year-old man were arrested in Bristol on suspicion of murder.
- A 20-year-old woman was arrested in Islington for assisting an offender.
- The 18-year-old man and 20-year-old woman were later bailed pending further inquiries.
- The 23-year-old man was released under investigation.
- A 17-year-old male was arrested in Bristol on 22 October for suspicion of murder and later bailed.
