Sexual Predator Jailed for 25 Months After Series of Shocking Attacks in East London
Enfield man Fadare, 39, was sentenced to 25 months in prison at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Wednesday, 11 August. He had earlier pleaded guilty to five sexual assaults across East London. He’s also slapped with a five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and must register as a sex offender.
Attacks Spread Across East London in One Terrifying Morning
On 20 October 2020, Fadare hit Chingford shortly before 7.25am and launched a terrifying spree. Over four and a half hours, he targeted four victims at random. He first tried to buy food with a declined bank card before stealing it without paying — a key clue that helped police track him.
His first victim, a 23-year-old woman on Hall Lane, spotted him following her. She sped up, but Fadare grabbed her arm and asked where she was going. When she dodged into a side street, he gave chase but eventually moved on.
Schoolgirl and Mothers Targeted in Brazen Attacks
Next, at around 7.40am on Chingford Mount Road, he sexually assaulted a 15-year-old schoolgirl waiting at a bus stop, making lewd comments. Shocked, she told him to leave her alone.
Fadare then moved towards Lea Valley Park on the Leyton-Hackney border. At about 11.40am, he assaulted a 31-year-old woman walking with her child. She escaped after spotting him smiling at her near a footbridge.
Minutes later, he attacked a 30-year-old mother looking at horses in a paddock. Fadare walked past her child, assaulted the mother, but she cleverly used her phone to scare him off and escape.
Final Assault Leads to Police Arrest
Days later on 5 November, Fadare attacked a fifth woman waiting for a bus in Middlesex Street, City of London. The victim was an off-duty police officer, who followed Fadare after he fled and alerted authorities. He was swiftly detained.
Police Praise Victims’ Courage and Perseverance
Detective Sergeant Darren Case said: “Fadare is a sexual predator who targeted vulnerable women, including a schoolgirl and mothers with children. He thought secluded locations would hide his crimes, but we proved him wrong.”
“Officers painstakingly reviewed hours of CCTV to piece together his movements. Detective Constable Tim Hudson’s dedication was key in identifying him and bringing him to justice.”
“We stand firm in supporting sexual assault victims. I salute the bravery of the women involved and hope this sentence gives them some closure.”
