Ram Raiders Smash The Range in Portsmouth in Midnight Heist
A daring ram raid has rocked The Range store in Portsmouth as thieves used a stolen car to smash through security shutters and make off with a haul of goods and cash.
Stolen Vauxhall Corsa Used in Smash and Grab
Just before midnight on Friday, a stolen Vauxhall Corsa barreled through the blue security shutter at The Range in Burrfields, Portfield Industrial Estate. Witnesses said the car was reversed at speed into the home and leisure retail shop before the gang struck.
Balaclava-Clad Raiders Escape in a Grey VW Beetle
The men, masked in balaclavas, fled the scene in a grey VW Beetle loaded with stolen items and cash. One local, who asked to remain anonymous, said police arrived shortly after the robbery, describing the raid as “super-quick.”
Police on the Hunt – Forensic Exam Underway
Officers are still hunting the culprits. One of the vehicles involved will be recovered and examined for forensic clues. Hampshire Police are urging anyone with information to come forward by calling 101 and quoting the crime reference number. The investigation remains ongoing.
