Mohammed Sesay hit the headlines after police stopped him driving a suspicious vehicle in the City of London on November 11 last year. Acting on reports of a lost or stolen car, officers pulled the car over and found Sesay alone behind the wheel.
Cocaine secret revealed in a fake-bottom water bottle
A search of the car uncovered 32 wraps of cocaine secreted inside a crafty water bottle with a false bottom that unscrewed. Alongside the drugs, officers found £4,000 in cash stashed under the driver’s seat and business cards with a QR code linking to a WhatsApp group, hinting at a wider drug network.
Old Bailey delivers tough sentence
At the Old Bailey hearing on March 23, Sesay was sentenced to a jail term of three years and four months for possession with intent to supply. He also received a concurrent two-month sentence for possessing criminal property.
City cops vow to crack down on dealers
Detective Constable James Crellin of City of London Police said: “The sentencing reflects the seriousness of this offender’s actions and the harm caused by drug dealing within our communities. We are committed to relentlessly pursuing those who choose to profit from crime at the expense of others. Let this serve as a clear warning: if you come into the City to deal drugs, we will catch you and bring you to justice. I hope this outcome provides reassurance to the public that we will continue to take robust action against those involved in criminality.”
